Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center

Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center

College Cooperative Programs

The Training Center has entered into cooperative agreements with each of Nebraska’s Community Colleges. All of the community colleges offer an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice which provides a special track for students who want to pursue a career in law enforcement. Students attending through this program will attend the regular fourteen-week Basic Course. Students who are not hired by a Nebraska law enforcement agency before or during the basic training course will be issued a diploma on successful completion of the program and will have two years in which to obtain employment and appointment with an agency as a law enforcement officer. Law enforcement officer certification is not complete until the student is hired and appointed by a Nebraska law enforcement agency.
