Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center

Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center

Veterans' Information

The Training Center is approved for use of veterans’ educational benefits. A significant number of our students are service members who have recently separated from the armed forces. Employers of law enforcement officers place a high value on the life experiences offered by a successful term of military service. Service members have demonstrated a dedication to public service and ability to adapt to a military command and control system which is similar to that found in most law enforcement agencies. Individuals with prior successful military service make attractive candidates for job openings within the profession.

Two routes are open to individuals with military service:

Enrollment in the sixteen week basic course directly with the Training Center or;

Enrollment in a community college AAS cooperative degree program.

Either route will provide the required law enforcement training to allow hiring and appointment as a law enforcement officer in the State of Nebraska.

The Training Center provides information on job openings within the state on this site as well as allowing students and graduates to post notices of their availability for hire (link to “looking for job”).
